of Conway, AR
March 25, 1942 - February 19, 2017
Willie Joe Copeland of Conway died February 19, 2017. He will forever be in our hearts but God has called him home. He was born in Saltillo, Arkansas to Homer Lee and Minnie Eiberg Copeland. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Vernon and Bob Copeland and Charles Morgan.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Glenda Carson Copeland; son Kevin Dale Copeland (Sarah), granddaughter Laney Alise Copeland, all of Conway. He is also survived by a sister, Velma Thomas, of Madera, California, and a large extended family.
Willie spent most of his working years as a self-employed mechanic. He had a deep love for the world created by God. Spending time and being Papa to Laney was his greatest joy. Fishing, hunting with his son, and camping with his family were his favorite activities. In the neighborhood, Willie was known to have the cleanest truck, the neatest yard, and a great vegetable garden which he shared with family, friends, and neighbors.
Visitation will be February 27 at 2:00 p.m. at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, Arkansas, with a memorial service to follow at 3:00.
My deepest requests he will be missed.
R.I.P. My friend.
I'm sorry for the loss of your husband and pray that God will give you courage and strength in this time of sadness.
So sorry for your loss. I moved in next to Willie in June. He was the first neighbor to come say Hi. He was always friendly and I enjoyed our talks in the driveway, from talking about our yards and deer hunting
We are so sad to hear about your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Just know that Willie's memories and love will always be with you and he will be watching over you all from heaven above. Kevin, you mean so much to us and if there is anything you ever need, please do not hesitate to ask. May God give all of you peace and comfort during this time. Love Jeanie and Wayne
sorry for your lose

I will miss our Weds.meetings at the coffee shop, I am sorry for the family , I know what it means. Willie enjoyed talking about his family . He will be missed by all. My prayers go out to you.
Willie was a great friend and neighbor. He would always greet us with a big smile and we are going to miss him dearly. I really enjoyed our conversations and getting to know him over the past few years. We had a good time just talking over little projects we were working on, hunting adventures, fishing, cars, guns, and many other subjects. He was always generous to help fix things and to share his garden harvest. As the obituary stated...he did have the cleanest truck and yard in the neighborhood and I wasn't happy about it. I could never keep up with him!
Great man and prayers are with the Copeland family.
I had the great privilege to know Mr. Willie the better part of my life having been best friends with Kevin since we were in elementary. He was such a good man, full of so much knowledge and advice. I will never forget being watched like a hawk when Kevin and I would take on a truck project. He could offer up all kinds of tricks that made perfect sense to make the project easier. I learned a lot hanging around the Copeland garage. I will miss him, and look forward to picking his brain about an upcoming project some day. My families thoughts and prayers are with you Kevin, Ms. Glenda, and your entire family!
I'll keep your family in my prayers. Willie was a great neighbor and a better friend. I'll really miss our garage conversations.
