James M. ''Jim'' Simpson, 73, of Concord died Saturday, February 11, 2017, at White River Medical Center.
Born July 11, 1943, in Batesville, he was the son of Marshall Boyer Simpson and Irene M. (Crutcher) Simpson.
He spent many years of his life as a grocer and self-employed cookie distributor. He was a loving and giving husband, daddy and grandpa. Jim loved sports, especially watching his kids and grandkids play Pirate and Southerner basketball. He loved the Lord and his church family and had a great sense of humor. He was a member of Concord General Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Perralee Ann (Thomas) Simpson of Concord; three daughters, Jamie Shane and her husband, Randy, of Batesville, Tracy Logan and Julie Simpson, both of Concord; five grandchildren: Jordan Shane, Ethan Hebert, Ryan Shane, Jonathan Shane and Jacob Shane.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two grandsons, Jedidiah Murrell and Daniel Murrell.
There will be a funeral service at Concord General Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 18, 2017, with Brian Harlan and Dwight Decker officiating.
Pallbearers will be Heath Grant, Josh Grant, Wes Martin, Clint Martin, Mark Cornett, Jeffrey Wells and Greg Thomas.
Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery at Floral under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 Friday, February 17, 2017, at the funeral home.

I grew up knowing Jimmy and always thought a lot of him. He was a good man.
