Cecil ''Steve'' Stephens Sr., 97, of Conway passed away February 11, 2017. He was born December 2, 1919 in Naylor, Arkansas to the late Wesley A. Stephens and Ila Ogden Stephens, of Conway. Mr. Stephens was an electrician for 27 years, and retired after 14 years as a maintenance engineer at St. Scholastica Monastery in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Steve was a WW II veteran Army Air Corp, stationed at Hamilton Field, California, Luke Field, Arizona, R.A.F. base Roswell NM, one year in England and one year in France. He was discharged a Tech Sgt., 707th A.F.S.G., 42nd Troop Carrier, 9th Air Force.
He was a Member of St Joseph Catholic Church in Conway Arkansas, and an honorary life member 3rd degree Knights of Columbus. A loved and respected Husband, Father, and Grandfather, who's cherished by family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 76 years, Mary L. Walter Stephens; grandchildren: Danny Kirspel, Amy Kirspel Cains, Debbie Schulze, and Sandy Sisson; great grandchildren: Jeremy and Eden Schulze, Anna, Nathan and James Kirspel; and great great grandchild Silas Schulze. Other survivors include his brother, Edward Stephens, and sister Corinth Willbanks.
He is preceded in death by son Cecil H. Stephens Jr., daughter Patricia Kirspel, brothers: L.P. Stephens and Townz C. Stephens, and grandson David Kirspel.
Rosary will be held at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway at 6:00PM Wednesday February 15, 2017 with visitation following. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church Thursday February 16, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Joseph Endowment Fund, 1315 College Ave, Conway, AR 72034.

Cecil was such a sweet man. I always enjoyed my visits with him and Mary at Brookdale. He will be missed. I pray for God's peace and comfort upon Mary and his family during this difficult time.
