March 8, 1934 - February 7, 2017

Phillip Dean Pierson, age 82, was born on March 8, 1934 in Harmony, Arkansas, the son of Phil Pierson and Lorna (Laster) Pierson and passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital in Russellville, Arkansas.

He grew into manhood in the Harmony Community. He went to Kansas City to work for American Can Company. He transferred to Forest Park, Georgia and retired there from American Can. He then worked for International Paper there. He retired from International Paper and moved back to Clarksville. He went to work for Greatwide Logistics until his health prevented him from working. He was in a bowling league in is younger years, and was an avid Razorback fan. He enjoyed camping and vacationing with the family. He was a member of the Russellville Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Vera Pierson of the home; son, Keith (Linda) Pierson of Peculiar, Missouri; Mindy (Terry) Bricker of Mercersburg , Pennsylvania; Grandchildren, Matthew (Kelsey) Pierson, Jonathan (Kelsey) Pierson, Brandon Hunsberger, Karina (Andrew) Wetzel, and Brett Hunsberger; brother, Hance (Mary Ann) Pierson; Brother in Law, Bill Porter, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Phil Pierson, Mother Lorna (Laster) Pierson, sisters, Iva Lee Fuchs, and Anna Lou Porter.
Visitation will be held from 1:30-2:00 p.m. Saturday February 11, 2017
Phillips Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday February 11, 2017 at Harmony Presbyterian Church, with Rev Brian Brock officiating, Burial will follow in Harmony cemetery with Matthew Pierson, Jonathan Pierson, Brandon Hunsberger, Brett Hunsberger, Gary Pierson, Mike Pierson, David Porter, Jimmy Porter, and Robert Porter serving as honorary pallbearers.
The family has requested memorial donations be made to the Harmony Presbyterian Church or the Harmony Cemetery.
