Claire Billingsley Hicks was born on April 11, 1929 to J.J. and Corrine Billingsley, and after a lengthy battle with cancer, Claire passed into the arms of the Lord on February 2, 2017 at St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock, surrounded by her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Richard "Jim" Hicks; her daughter, Pamela Jane Hicks; sister, Peggy Schenebeck; and granddaughter, Caroline de Orbegozo.
Claire is survived by her brother, James F. (Pat) Billingsley of Helena; daughter, Madeline Claire (Fermin) de Orbegozo of Little Rock; her grandchildren, Joseph, Corinne and Emma; son, James Richard "Rick" Hicks, Jr. of Roanoke, Texas; daughter, Kimberly Anne (Chris) Anderson of Bon Secour, Alabama; grandson, Christopher (Jordan); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Claire was born and raised in Helena, Arkansas and attended the University of Arkansas. She returned to Helena and worked for AP&L and Helena Compress Company. Grandma or Ma Claire, as she was known to her grandchildren, was totally devoted to her family and will be greatly missed by all.
A graveside memorial service and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena on Monday, February 6, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.
Service will be directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, (870) 572-2571.

Dear Madeline, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your mom Mrs Hicks. My memories of her was of a very kind and pretty lady, always with a smile, along with your beautiful grandmother Mrs Billingsley. May The Lord continue to grace you with His peace and comfort during this time.
