Madine Stone, 90, a resident of Clarksville passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at the Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was born September 28, 1926, in Holladay, Benton County, Tennessee to the late Grady R. and Nellie (Malin) Sterling. Madine retired as a beautician and owned and operated her own beauty salon in Cahokia, Illinois until 1968. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She relocated to Arkansas in 1992. Madine was as member of the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Clarksville.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Henry of Illinois a sister Gaynelle Pritchard of Tennessee; two brothers, Wayne Sterling of Illinois and Roy Sterling of Clarksville.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Lester Stone of Clarksville; her children, Denise Pendleton and her husband, Danny of Virginia, Michael Stone and his wife, Peggy of Clarksville, Jeffrey Stone of Clarksville, Kerry Stone of Michigan and Donna Gadinis of Colorado; grandchildren, Dawn Laroque, Todd Pendleton and Larisa Stone; great grandchildren, Tanner, Katelyn, Austin, Carson and Nickolas; nieces, Cathy Sykes and Sharon Wachtel, both of Tennessee and Barbara Tedeschi of Illinois.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 23, 2017, at the Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at the Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery in Clarksville under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, 1400 West Cherry Street, Clarksville, AR 72830.
My heart was broken when a friend called and said Madene had passed away. She was a dear friend, neighbor. I pray for her family and know she is in heaven, she was a wonderful Christian Lady.
