George Steven Lucas, 54, of Beebe, Arkansas passed away October 13, 2016. He was born March 22, 1962 in Morrilton, Arkansas to the late Billy Fred Lucas and Weda Joyce Lucas. Steve was preceded in death by his father, grandparents Fred Hensley of Damascus, Johnnie Helen Mahan of Damascus, Rufus Jackson Lucas of Damascus, and Clyde Anna Finney of Pangburn.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 29 years, Tammy Lucas of Beebe, Arkansas: one son, Corey Lucas of Conway, Arkansas: and one daughter, Laney Lucas and fiancé Landon Moore of Jonesboro, Arkansas: one sister Mary Sharlene Lucas Mourot of Springfield, Arkansas, and one brother David Royce Lucas and Diane Lucas of Springfield, Arkansas; nephews Matt and Adam Lucas, nieces Alicia Lucas and Hayli and Anna Mourot, Uncle Fred Hensley; and close family friend Bill Milton. He is also cherished by a host of family and friends who will dearly miss him.
Steve impacted lives of hundreds of kids both in and outside of his home, faculty members and staff due to 31+ years in the education system. His memory will never be forgotten.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 17th 4-8 pm, at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier, Arkansas. Funeral Services, officiated by David ''Buzz'' Heffington at 1 pm at Greenbrier Church of Christ on Tuesday, October 18th. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Center Ridge, Arkansas.
Mr. Lucas touched so many lives during his time at Greenbrier High School. I feel blessed to have had him as my principle during my time at Greenbrier. He had a great sense of humor but was also firm in pointing students in the right direction in their lives. He will be sorely missed by many within the community. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.
Steve was an awesome classmate all through school and hunter when able go go to granny Martha's with the gang. He will be missed by many. Stay strong. God will provide
Mr.Lucas was a great guy. He was loved by many and always making people laugh.He will be greatly missed.

Mr. Lucas was the best principal ever! In all the schools that my parents had shuffled me around to, I'd never met a nicer man than Mr. Lucas. He really cared a lot about his students! RIP sir.
