Lynda Bailey Brasel, age 73, of West Helena, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016, in Helena, Arkansas. She was born in Helena, Arkansas on February 23, 1943, to the late Robert and Margaret Bailey. Mrs. Brasel was a member of West Helena Baptist Church where she also served as church secretary for 33 years before retiring. She enjoyed cooking, spoiling her pets, beautiful flowers, and spending time with her family. Every holiday, the family would gather at her home where she would make everyone feel loved and welcomed. She was married to the love of her life, James Brasel, for 53 years. They were high school sweethearts and built a lifetime full of wonderful memories around friends and family.
She is survived by her husband, James Brasel; daughter, Monica Quattlebaum (Terry); grandchildren: Beth Quattlebaum of Conway, Arkansas, Michael Quattlebaum, Christina Garner (Joe, Jr.), and Ben Quattlebaum; great grandchild, Marlee Jo Garner; brother, Robert Bailey, Jr. (Teresa) of Lonoke, Arkansas; sister, Joy Buffalo (Bob) of Little Rock, Arkansas; niece, Marsha Lee (Mike) of Cabot, Arkansas; nephews: Trey Bailey (Lucy) of New Castle, NSW, Australia and Bailey Buffalo of Piedmont, Oklahoma; and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A service for Lynda Brasel will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Helena with Brother Randy Williamson to officiate. Burial services will follow at Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Bailey Buffalo, Joe Garner, Jr., Robert Goodson, Tommy Gregory, Ben Quattlebaum, Michael Quattlebaum, and Jason Webster.
Memorials may be made to West Helena Baptist Church.
Services will be directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, (870) 572-2571.
