Terry Len Vickers, age 66, of Yantis, Texas, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 at the VA Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Terry was born in Marianna, Arkansas on June 19, 1950 to the late Herbert Milton Vickers and late Betty Louise (Cullum) Vickers. Terry was a member of the Church of Christ.
Terry graduated from Central High School in West Helena in 1969 and then joined the Marines. After military service, Terry attended Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, Arkansas, where he received a bachelor's degree in Computer Science. He continued his education at University of Central Arkansas in Conway, where he earned his bachelor's in Business Administration.
Following college Terry lived in the Houston area of Baytown working as a project superintendent building subdivisions for U.S. Homes. He later moved to the Dallas area until 1999 when he moved Yantis, Texas. He spent the rest of his life doing what he loved most, fishing Lake Fork and other lakes in East Texas with his closest friends.
Terry is survived by one daughter, Amber (Christopher) Reilly and two grandsons of Gentry, Arkansas, as well as three brothers and one sister.
A graveside service for Terry will be held on October 6, 2016 at 11:00AM at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena, Arkansas.
We will miss Terry so much. He has been a great friend for many years. Our whole family has been positively influenced by his thoughtfulness and kindness through the 30 + years we have known him. God be with you, Terry. I will always have you in my heart.
We are so sorry I watched Terry grow up in Helena his father Milton ran West Brothers then worked for C.E. Mayers. The family are in our thoughts and prayers. Jim Mayer
