Harold Dee Hicks, age 72, of Harrison, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born April 5, 1944, in Murray, Arkansas, the son of Lex and Virgie (Flippo) Hicks.
Harold was a Deacon at First Baptist Church of Bellefonte where he held numerous positions and was an Army Reserves veteran. He married Rayanna Easter, November 9, 1962 in Bellefonte and retired from Hicks Trucking after 29 years as owner. Harold enjoyed music and hosted monthly Gospel singings at his home. He sang as long as he was able to. Working was his hobby which included farming, running heavy equipment, and repairing and restoring cars.
Harold is survived by his wife, Rayanna (Easter) Hicks, of the home; his son, Craig Hicks; his daughter and son-in-law, Kristi and Michael Brown; his grandchildren, Kayla and her husband Robert Young, Trey Hicks, Annemarie Eaton, Mary Eaton, Madelyn Brown and Keaton Brown; his great-grandchildren, Jaiden Hicks and Tristan Young.
Harold is also survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice and J.R. Renfro, Sharon and James Taylor, and Brenda Bogue; and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Arlis Hicks and Howard Hicks, in-laws Ray and Mary Sue Easter, brothers-in-law George Hamilton and Richard Bogue.
Visitation was Sunday, September 25, 2016, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.
Funeral services was Monday, September 26, 2016 at Roller Christeson Funeral Home with Brother Marshall Boggs officiating.
Interment was in Bellefonte Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Craig Hicks, Trey Hicks, Michael Brown, J.R. Renfroe, James Thomason and James Taylor.
Honorary Pallbearers were Harold's grandchildren, nieces and nephews, Bob Womac, Jim Jones, members of First Baptist Church of Bellefonte and the Monday Night Singers.
