Sally Ruth Hastings, 73, Proctor was born March 17, 1943 in Perry the daughter of the late Edward and Katie Edwards '''' Johnson. She entered into eternal rest September 19, 2016 at her residence. Mrs. Hastings was a homemaker for many years after spending a career in local newspaper companies including The Evening Times. She was a Christian having her membership in Cornerstone Baptist Church. Sally is survived by one son, Dwayne C. Hastings ( Robin ) of Proctor; one daughter Celeta Michelle Stripling ( Dennis ) of Marked Tree; eight grandchildren, Brandi Coker ( John ), Amanda Hastings, Keith Thurmond ( Jessica ), Bryce Thurmond ( Nikki ), Gregory Hastings, Joshua Hastings ( Bridget ), Kelly Stephens ( Richard ), and Brandon Stripling. Also surviving is one brother, Charles E. Johnson ( Elaine ). She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 55 years Mr. James C. Hastings; one son, James Gregory Hastings; one grandson, Johnathon Dwayne Hastings, and one granddaughter, Breanna Coker.
