Reverend Bill Sims, of Benton, AR passed peacefully into his eternal home on September 14, 2016. Reverend Sims was born September 10, 1929 in Guy, AR to F. C. and Beatrice Sims of Greenbrier, AR. He was married to his best friend, Maxine Hawk Sims for over 56 years.

Reverend Sims attained his doctorate from Central Christian University and faithfully served the Lord as an ordained Assembly of God minister for over 50 years. He served his country and was a U.S. Army veteran. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife Maxine, parents, and a brother, B. D. Sims of Earle, AR.

Loving memories are left to his daughter, Jamie E. Burton, (Joseph) of Benton; granddaughter, Jaden of Benton; a sister, Carlene Hall of Greenbrier; and several nieces, and nephews.

A memorial celebration of Reverend Sims life will be held Sunday, October 16, 2016 at St. John's Chapel by the Creek in Benton. Visitation will be at 3:00PM with service to follow at 4:00PM. Service will be officiated by Dr. Ted Edmondson. Interment was private at Oak Grove Cemetery in Conway, Ar.

Jamie, so sorry for your loss.Bro. Day and myself loved your Mother and Dad so much.Words can never express how much we loved them.When your mother was down in the bed she would call me and we would laugh and have a good time even tho she was ill and after Bro. Day passed away your dad would call me and ask how i was doing.Precious people.I know they are having a good time now.Your dad would say to your mother,"now Maxine"and she would say ,"What Sims?"Love and miss them.
