Naomi Suzanne Dhaemers

of Dennard, AR

June 10, 1980 - September 13, 2016

Naomi Suzanne Dhaemers passed from the suffering of this life on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at home, with her devoted sister Natasha at her bedside. Suzie was born on June 10, 1980 to Roger and Rebecca Dhaemers in Yellville, AR. The day of her birth was a particularly beautiful day and one that was often remembered by her parents and sisters with joy. Suzanne's mother Rebecca preceded her in death by a few short months and Suzie's grief over this devastating loss caused her indomitable spirit to quickly fade.

Suzie was a beautiful baby girl with lots of dark hair when she was born. At just seven months old, Suzanne was a passenger in an old truck not manufactured with seat belts. Suzanne was being held by her sister Amie when the truck crashed ejecting Suzie and Amie, injuring Tasha, and breaking her mother Rebecca's back. Suzanne had 25 skull fractures, had to have part of her brain removed and was not expected to live to be even five years old. Prayer was made at the scene of the accident and God intervened on her behalf and because of the mercy of the Lord, Suzanne lived a relatively long life and was a blessing and an inspiration to her family and those who loved her. Although she suffered from a severe seizure disorder, was unable to speak, and eventually lost the ability to walk, Suzie still expressed herself and not only took joy in life but brought joy to others with her bright smile and delighted laugh.

Suzie had many pleasures in life. Her very favorite activity was riding in a car, especially on tree lined curvy roads and long road trips. Suzie enjoyed sitting on her screened in porch in a recliner and listening to nature and she delighted in music. Her mother Rebecca often played the piano and sang to her. Suzie's nephews and niece brought much enjoyment to her as well.

Suzanne's memory will be cherished by those she leaves behind: her father Roger, her sister Amie and husband Tommy, her sister Natasha, nephews Dominic, Ryan and Tony, and niece Baylee.

A memorial service honoring Suzanne's life will be held 7:00 PM Monday, September 19th, 2016 at the First Apostolic Church in Marshall, Arkansas with John Eaton officiating. Burial was in East Lawn Cemetery.

Dear Dhaemers family. I am so sorry to have read of the death of Suzanne. Please accept my sincere condolences. I would like to share something that I have personally found to be comforting. It is found in the Bible at John 5:28, 29 and Revelation 21:4. These verses tell us that soon God is going to bring about a resurrection of our dear loved ones as well as do away with all causes we have for suffering, including sickness and death. Knowing this has always comforted me and it is my hope that these thoughts will comfort your family also.
