Martha Lucille Phillips died September 11, 2016 in Paris, Arkansas at the age of 94. She was born on August 15, 1922 to Edward F. and Cora Callie (Hayes) Phillips. She was the sixth of eight children. She lived to be the last of her generation in her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Clarence Washington, William Ward, Otto Lee and Ernest Leon Phillips; three sisters, Arizona Catherine Phillips, Mildred Nadine Cleary and Lillian Irene Hooper; and her nephew, Roger Hooper.

She leaves behind her niece, Sandra Bradley and husband Carlton of Paris; great-niece, Heather Meeker and husband Stephen of Russellville; two great-nephews, Rev. Heath Bradley and wife Andrea of Bentonville, and Josh Hooper and wife Monica of West Fork; six great-great-nieces, Lillian and Nora Meeker, Anabelle and Ava Bradley, Kendyl and Eryn Hooper; and many, many friends.

Martha lived in Logan County all of her life. She moved to her most recent house in Paris in 1945, where she lived independently until entering Paris Health and Rehab six years ago. There she was very active visiting other residents; listening to singers and ministers; and, of course, playing Bingo. She considered the staff there to be part of her family. She attended the First United Methodist Church of Paris, where she was received in 1936, ---the 42nd member of the church! She remained an active member of her church and was loved by her church family.

Miss Martha helped to raise me and my siblings. She was a wonderful woman nothing I can write here will do her justice. I just hope she tells Clarence that I did get a motorcycle.... he always told me I should "get one of those" when they would run up and down maple street. I she always had a push pop for any of the neighborhood kids that might just be needing one.

Martha, Clarence and Arizona lived next door to my grandparents in Paris for many years. Have fond memories of porch visits and talking over the fence with Clarence. Martha and her siblings were excellent neighbors. My prayers for the family.
