Mrs. Joyce Thornton, 79, of St.Louis, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2016. She was born August 23, 1937 to the late Chester and Margie Eason in Brookland.
Mrs. Thornton was a homemaker who enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing and going to the lake or the beach.
Survivors include her husband, James ''Pete'' Thornton; two daughters, Sheila Shipley and Charlotte (Ron) Lee; four grandchildren, Jacob Shipley, Mariah Shipley, Heather Shipley and Whitney Lee; one sister, Brenda Westmoreland.
Visitation is at 10:00am Saturday, September 10, at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home with the service following at 11:00am. John Freeman will officiate and burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery.
So sorry to hear about Joyce's passing. We always looked forward to visiting the lake house, especially when Joyce was having a dinner! Prayers for you and your family, Jim. We are thinking of you.
