Dear Mrs. Theresa and Nahlen Family,

Mrs. Nahlen, you probably don't remember us, but you and Mr. Herb stood up for us in 1969 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church when we had our civil marriage blessed by the Church. You both were so kind to us young college newlyweds. We have thought of both of you often and regret not getting in touch before this. Mr. Herb and Mr. Bob Imboden hired me to work in their sandwich/ice cream shop and I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to earn a living while Tom worked for Mr. Martin in his Conoco service station. We are now retired teachers from Mena Public Schools. Praying for the repose of your dear husband and father's soul and comfort for your family. May God bless you and your family richly for your kindness. Tom and Becky Parker

Herb was the best boss/ co-worker I ever had. I worked with him at Lake Conway Grocery and memories of Denver, Choke and Helen enjoying Herb's special humor and joy of life, still make me laugh. He was an awesome photographer too; photos he made of my daughters are priceless. Theresa and girls, my deepest sympathies to you. He was a good man. Prayers for peace and comfort

I will truly miss those Fridays playing music with Herb and uncle Raymond. Herb taught me so much about music and having fun playing it. I will always treasure those memories...

Herb was kind and funny as all get out. I know he loved his family very much. I've never known anyone to cherish or love their spouse as much as this man loved Teresa.

I am very sorry he passed so quickly but am glad he's no longer suffering. Love and peace to the family. God Bless you, Herb.

Memories of Bob and Herbs will stay with many a St. Joe alumni as we would sneak over during ball games or just go hang out.

We each have to work through the loss of a loved one in our own time and our own way. I hope your time in sorrowful mourning is short and you way is one of great memories.

I always enjoyed being around "Herbie". His sense of humor, his ability to make normal everyday things somehow funny, really rubbed off on people. I also enjoyed talking "Air Force" stuff with him. Rest In Peace, sir.
