Randall "Randy" Lee Brooks

of Harrison, AR

January 5, 1956 - August 27, 2016

Randall ''Randy'' Lee Brooks, age 60, of Harrison, formerly of Little Rock, went to his Heavenly home Saturday, August 27, 2016, surrrounded by his loving family. He was born January 5, 1956, in Little Rock, the son of Jerry and Ada (Brockwell) Brooks. Randy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carroll and Ethel Brockwell of Little Rock and Mathis and Edith Brooks of Little Rock; and an aunt, Lucy Hunter, of Little Rock.

Randy was a member of First Baptist Church of Harrison where he was a member of the ''First Friends Class'' led by his special Sunday school teachers, Jake Henson and Mary Purselley. He always loved going to church and praising the Lord each and every week. Randy had many gifts but the most important one was that he had a love for Christ and a servant's heart. He would stay after church each week and clean up the sanctuary making sure it was ready for the next service. He loved working with the Children's Ministry alongside his sister Kim, at First Baptist Church, including Mother's Day Out, Adventure Club, and Pumpkin Patch.

Randy also wanted to make the world a better place and did this through the Skyline Heights Recycling program. Because of his efforts for over 10 years with this program, he won the ''Volunteer Service Award'' from the Recycling Company along with a ''Lifetime Membership Award'' from the Skyline Heights Elementary PTA. However, Randy's greatest joy was being with his nephews, Brent, Bryan, and Brooks. He loved being a part of anything they did and enjoyed cheering them on at all their events. They were his pride and joy. He always loved going to Goblin games and cheering on his favorite team, the Goblins.

Randy had that special gift of making everyone feel special. He loved life, spending time with his sister, walking with his Daddy and helping his Mom around the house. He had so many friends who were a special part of his life from Little Rock and Harrison and he remembered every one of them by name. One of his favorite sayings was ''Time Sure Does Fly!''

Randy is survived by his loving parents, Jerry and Ada Brooks, of Harrison; his sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Brent Rosson; three nephews and a niece, Dr. Brent and Hannah Rosson of Little Rock, Bryan Rosson of Harrison and Brooks Rosson of Fayetteville; two uncles and one aunt, Cathryn and C.W. Brockwell, Jr. of Little Rock and S.M. Brooks, Jr. of Harrison, and a host of first cousins, family and friends.

Visitation was Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at Roller-Christenson Funeral Home.

Funeral service was Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at First Baptist Church in Harrison, with Pastor Rob Davis officiating and accompanied by Bob Johnson and Doug Rye.

Burial was at Maple Leaf Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Dr. Brent Rosson, Bryan Rosson, Brooks Rosson, Jon Burnside, David Stahler, Larry Phillips, Randy Walters and Robert McAlister.

Honorary pallbearers were Randy's Sunday school teachers: Mary Purselley and Jake Henson, Susan Anderson, Betty Johnson, Steve and Renee Cates, staff and friends at Mt. Vista Nursing Home, EMS, ICU and ER staff at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center, staff at Hospice of the Hills and FBC Mother's Day Out.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Hills, PO Box 1927, Harrison, AR 72602 or North Arkansas Regional Medical Center ICU, 620 N. Willow, Harrison, AR 72601, for their exceptional, loving care of Randy during his last days.

Ada, Jerry & Kim,
We are so saddened to hear of the loss of Randy. He was a special, unforgettable angel sent here to remind us of the blessings in life. We lost my special sister last year and it broke our hearts but it does help to know they are in blessed hands.
Love, Robert & "Dr Ann" Smith

Randy taught us the simple truth by the example he lived every day, that the most important things in our lives are our faith, our family and our friends. Thank you , Randy, for blessing us with your friendship and we'll be looking around for you in heaven, expecting you to greet us with that smile and handshake, when God calls us home.
