Amy Leigh Seiter died on August 27, 2016 in North Little Rock, AR at the age of 36. She was born on November 6, 1979 in Conway, AR, to parents Mark and Terri Seiter and grew up in a loving family with one sister and one brother. Amy attended St. Joseph Catholic School, Conway High School and spent her senior year as a foreign exchange student in Vigo, Spain. Amy excelled in the sciences and graduated from Mississippi State University in 2003 with a degree in Geology and received her Master's degree in Geology from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2005.
Amy was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009 but remained dedicated in her work and in her will to fight her illness. She remained a brave, positive woman, even throughout her final months.
Amy most recently worked for Harbor Environmental and Safety in Little Rock, AR as a Senior Project Manager, where she met her fiancé Wayne Mills, who preceded her in death in 2015. Amy was a driven professional with a love of traveling and the outdoors. In addition, she truly cherished her devoted companion River, a red Doberman.
Amy is survived by her parents, Mark and Terri Seiter of Conway as well as her sister, Kara Seiter (Dru Smith) of Tulsa, OK and brother, Adam Seiter, (Jessica and Lillian) of Jonesboro, AR and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A rosary will be held on Wednesday, August 31st at 6:00 p.m. with visitation following at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Conway, AR followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday September 1st at 10:00 a.m. with Father John Marconi and Father Anthony Robbins serving as Celebrants. A reception at St. Joseph Parish Hall will follow; all are welcome.
The family would especially like to thank Dr. Laura Hutchins, Dr. Stephanie Simonton-Atchley, Dr. Sarah Elizabeth Harrington and hospice nurse Tiffany Ray for their gracious care and support. Additionally, the family is forever grateful to her friends at Harbor Environmental and Safety and for the many gifts, food, cards, prayers and visits from family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St. Joseph School Endowment or your local Humane Society.
I had the great privilege of interacting professionally with Amy on environmental matters for several years. She was always enjoyable to work with, and especially seemed very grateful that her job allowed opportunities for her to engage in field work in the Fayetteville Shale. My work day was always brightened considerably when Amy would have her dog River along! I will miss the brightness, intelligence, and kindness that Amy exemplified. Our world is a poorer place without her presence.
What touching services for your beautiful Amy. Our sympathy and prayers are with you all.
I didn't have the privilege of knowing Amy long. I only met her once at my nephew Wayne's funeral in June 2015. Much to my surprise, no one told me how pretty she was. After visiting with her, it was apparent to me that she had an inward beauty as well. I was quite taken with her even though our meeting was under the saddest of circumstances.
I take comfort in knowing that Amy and Wayne are together once again in God's welcoming arms.
Terri and family- Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers! Love you! Mary-Catherine
