Garland Begley, age 91 of St. Joe, Arkansas, passed away Monday, August 22, 2016 at Creekside Nursing and Rehab in Yellville, Arkansas.
Mr. Begley was born January 31, 1925 in Freck, Arkansas to the late John William and Mary Ellen (Curry) Begley. He was a farmer, carpenter, and a Christian by faith. He and his wife, the late Maxine Eidson Begley were married February 26, 1945 and celebrated 71 years of marriage before she preceded him in death April 15, 2016.
Garland is survived by a son, Larry Gene Begley of Benton, Arkansas;
three daughters: Virginia Jarrett of Springdale, Arkansas;
Maryetta Griner of Wyandotte, Oklahoma;
Garla Shaw of Yellville;
eleven grandchildren: Evelyn, Annette, Roy, Susan, Joe, Franklin, Larry, Cathy, Brian, Leanne, and Jessica;
nineteen great-grandchildren;
and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents;
his wife, Maxine;
his brother, William "Ben" Begley;
and his sister, Rosa Begley.
Visitation for Mr. Begley will be 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Friday, August 26, 2016 at Burns Funeral Home in Yellville, Arkansas.
Funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Anderson Flat Church with Brother Jack Jefferson officiating.
Interment will follow at Anderson Flat Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
