October 10, 1925 - July 24, 2016

Winnie Lee (Boss) Green Farmer departed this life on July 24, 2016 in Booneville, Arkansas.

She was born on October 10, 1925 to the late Henry Willoughby Boss and Mary Elizabeth (Lizzie) Diana (Bryant) Boss at Barber, Arkansas. On March 2, 1952, she married Ishmael H. Green, who passed on in 2003. They had four children. On June 23, 2008 she married Virgil Farmer.

She loved family, sewing, quilting, crocheting, knitting, reading, traveling and gardening. Also, she made braided rugs, trapunta pictures and wooden baskets. Particularly, she loved flowers, birds and kitty cats. Until her memory became fuzzy, she read her bible regularly and could quote scripture well. She won prizes at the fair for her breads, preserves and pies. She and Ishmael taught their children and grandchildren to churn butter, garden, make homemade peanut butter, to sew and to can fruits and vegetables.

Family members who preceded Winnie in death were her husband of fifty-one years, Ishmael; her parents, Henry and Lizzie; four infant brothers and sisters; one brother, Dale and one sister, Velta.

Her survivors include her husband, and caregiver of several of her last years, Virgil; her children, Lyndol and wife Alisa, who were Winnie's caregivers during her last six months, of Magazine; Nancy and husband Mitch Harbour, of Pocola, Oklahoma; Wayne and wife Cathy of Delta Junction, Alaska; and Diane Staton and husband Larry of Magazine; Virgil's children Aaron and Wife Terri, of Booneville; Barbara and husband Thomas Harger of Havana; Karen and husband David Walker of Texarkana and Linda Channell of Booneville; nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at the Booneville Funeral Service Chapel.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Reveille Primitive Baptist Church in Magazine officiated by Elder James Isaacs and Elder Mark Green. Burial will follow in Evans Cemetery in Magazine under the direction of Booneville Funeral Service.
