Ellery Hoyt “Cookie” Cooke, age 64, of Mabelvale, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 13, 2005. By his side was his loving wife and best friend , Juanita Loyed-Cooke. He was born on July 19, 1941 in Little Rock, Arkansas.
He is also survived by his children, Kim and husband, Geoff Cartwright, Michael and wife, Robin Cooke; Linda and husband, Donnie Morris; grandchildren, Corbin Cooke, Cayden Cooke, Jason Loyed and Ashley Loyed; nephews, Tad and Jaye Tinnell; his sister, Linda Tinnell and many, many friends.
“Cookie” as his friends would call him, has spent the last 19 months battling lung cancer.
He fought with bravery and honor, never giving up the fight. His passion for life has given all who knew him a better understanding on what it means to live. With his constant smile, his love of laughter and the story that had no end will forever ring in our hearts. He is already sorely missed by his wife, family, friends and his grandchildren will surely miss their “Poppy.”
Visitation will be held at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, 10900 I-30, on Thursday, September 15, 2005 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. (501) 455-5800.
A private memorial service will be held at his favorite lake, fishing hole and cove,
