of Beebe, AR
April 4, 1929 - July 2, 2016
Anna Mae Donnell Neal went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 2, 2016 after a life full of family, faith, and love.
On April 4, 1929, Anna was born in Judsonia, Arkansas as the youngest of 15 children. She had fond memories of her childhood from working on her family's 40-acre farm to spending quality time with her family and friends. At 12, Anna accepted the Lord into her heart and was subsequently baptized at the White River in Georgetown. She continued to worship the Lord throughout her life, remaining a member of West Race Baptist in Searcy until her death. In 1945, Anna became the only person in her family to graduate high school (West Point High School) and just two years later married the love of her life, Burl Neal, Sr. The two moved to Searcy and during their 54 years of marriage raised three children. Anna worked at the International Shoe Company (later Calvin Mitchell Billfold Factory) until her retirement.
She devoted her life to taking care of her family, worshipping her Lord and will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.
Anna is preceded in death by her parents, John Albert ''Abb'' and Florrie Nier Davis Donnell; her husband, Burl Neal, Sr.; her daughter-in-law, Peggy Neal; 13 siblings; and her best friends, Florence Vandiver and Doris King.
She is survived by her three children, Burl Neal, Jr. (Pat) of Atlanta, Georgia, Randy Neal (Cathy) of Greenbrier, Arkansas, and LaDonna Hendrickson of Beebe, Arkansas; her sister, Katie Fay Donnell Rouse-Henson of Hot Springs, Arkansas. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Anna will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, and the time spent with her always be a blessing.
Visitation will be 2 PM until Service time at 3 PM on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 in the Chapel of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy. Interment will follow at White County Memorial Gardens. For online guest book, www.rollerfuneralhomes.com
I just learned of Ann's passing. I wanted you to know what sweet friends and neighbors Ann and Burl were to my parents (AC and Louise Moncrief) I will always remember them smiling, joking and having fun! So sorry for your loss.
We love you
I love you so much Mamaw, and I always, always will. You have helped shaped me into the woman I am today. I'll forever be your baby girl. Thank you for being the best grandmother I could've ever asked for. I'll see you again one day
God rest her soul. She is one of the sweetest, most giving, and caring people in my life. She took me in 35 years ago and treated me just like one of her own. She would tell me when I was wrong and be one of my strongest supporters. I will always love her, and I will miss her dearly.
Anyone's life she ever touched she left a print on their life.
I feel lucky to have had her as
my mother-in-law and my mom.
I love you Mamaw, and I will miss you deeply.
You will always be remembered and forever loved.
Randy and family, you all our in our thoughts and prayers.
