Charles H. Phillips III ''Sonny'', 73 of Mt. Vernon, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at his home. He was born April 7, 1943 in Newport News, Virginia to the late Charles Howard Phillips II and Margaret Carter Phillips.
Sonny was also preceded in death by one son, Albert Aaron Phillips.
He is survived by two sons, Michael Raymond Phillips and wife Tabbi of Mt. Vernon and James Howard Phillips of Romance; four daughters, Laurie Jean Swiatkowski of Genoa City, Wisconsin, Mary Ann Evans and husband Kerry of Romance, Kathrine Ann Gibson of Garden Prairie, Illinois, and Karen Christine Phillips of Beebe; twelve grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margarett DeMichael and Barbara Samsong both of Florida, one brother Clarence W. Phillips of Conway and a host of nieces and nephews.
There will be a memorial service to be announced at a later date.

I'll always remember you with good thoughts. You were always good to me as a neighbor,a friend and a good ole country boy but most of all we (your family and my family) all were family. We worked together cutting wood , splitting fence posts, going to Beebee to sell things... we played cards and watched wrestling and ate many meals together too..
I Love you and your family and you will be missed dearly even though it had been years since we had seen each other. Rest in peace....
