Gladys Owens George, age 96, of Sherwood, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016. She was the daughter of Arthur and Maude Owens and the wife of Leo W. George. Gladys was a school teacher early in life and a mother and homemaker in her later years. She was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed traveling to craft fairs and gardening.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one son, Jimmy.
Gladys is survived by her son Bill George, of Wisconsin, and special friends and caretakers, Ann and Ronny Baty, of Sherwood.
Graveside services will be held, Monday, May 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., at Martindale Cemetery. Services entrusted to Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock (501-791-7400)

So sorry to hear of your mother's passing. Unfortunately, I won't be able to come to Little Rock for her funeral. I remember when she and your father would come to visit my parents when we were growing up and later as a young adult as well. I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers.

My sincere condolences to the family. I had so hoped to meet Gladys one day, but sometimes we wait too long for things and this was the case. My sister had contacted her re some of our family history in the past and she was so sweet about it. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of our extended cousins.
