Dean T. Hughes, 81 of Lamar, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016 in Clarksville. Mr. Hughes was born December 17, 1934 in Knoxville to Mr. Lee and Amy (Richardson) Hughes. Dean loved his family; he enjoyed being a farmer and taking care of his cattle. He loved to go to fish fries and listen to the boys play country music; he also enjoyed his time as a school bus driver for the Lamar School District, and driving the boys' basketball team to their games. Mr. Hughes is preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Hughes is survived by four daughters; Deanie and Jeff Crisler of Lamar, Barbara and Terry Blackard of Clarksville, Monica Hughes of Clarksville, and Teresa and Rocky Hill of London; two sisters, Christine Kemp and Gwenith Holman, both of Lamar; six grandchildren, Julie Zinicola, Josh Stumbaugh, Lee Blackard, Nicole Bale, Will Blackard, and Jessica Hill; nine great-grandchildren, his special companion, Joyce Allen and her children, Kirk, Missy, and Mike, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation for Mr. Hughes will be 1:00 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 13, 2016 at the Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 13, 2016 at the Lamar Cemetery, with Bro. Richard Snyder officiating. Dean's grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
