Lois Zimmer Goodwin

of Little Rock, AR

February 11, 1930 - April 28, 2016

Lois Zimmer Goodwin, born February 11, 1930 passed from this life into Heaven's flower garden on April 28, 2016.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Roy Zimmer and Hattie Gibbons Zimmer; a brother, Charles Zimmer; a sister, Helen Reutz; a baby girl and a grandson, Clay Goodwin.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Fay Goodwin; sons, Allan (Darce), David, and Dale Goodwin; granddaughters, Sheryl Wales (Trafton), Krystle Hall (Jason), and Lindy Goodwin; and four great grandchildren, Anika and Wesley Wales; and Hayden and Madison Hall; a niece Freda Reutz; a nephew Freddy Reutz; and extended family, Debra Harvey and son, Derek. She has also left behind nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Mom and Pop set the standard for what marriage should be. Together they worked side by side for many years running Goodwin & Sons Gro. They lived through good times but also hard and sad times and still had a great love for each other. She loved her little boys with all her heart and was able to enjoy all of her grandchildren and great-grands. She also loved her birds and flowers. She had a knack for making things grow. We would tease her about being able to make a rock grow! Mom had a dry sense of humor and also a way of making us do things without us even knowing it. As the matriarch of our family, she will be sorely missed by all. Mom was a member of Martindale Baptist Church for over 65 years. She enjoyed working in VBS and with the children.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Martindale Baptist Church. Graveside services will be 9:00 A.M., Monday, May 2, 2016 at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas, (501) 224-8300. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Baptist Children's Home; 10 Remington Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas 72204.

To Fay and Family - we are heartbroken and are so very sorry for your loss. Lois was a great friend, a beautiful and wonderful lady who loved her family and friends; we all loved her so much and will miss her, but she will remain in our hearts, and we cherish the memories of times spent with Lois and Fay. We pray that our awesome God will give you strength and courage and sustain you through the days ahead. We know she is in a beautiful place now where there is no more pain, nor sadness, only peace and contentment. We love each and everyone of you and extend our heartfelt sympathy, Harold and Christiane 'Chris' Allison

I remember Lois well as your insurance agent for many years. She was a wonderful lady. God be with you Fay, and all the family.
