Catherine Virginia Scheidler, age 90, of Bull Shoals, Arkansas passed away Sunday, April 24, 2016, in Mountain Home. She was born July 28, 1925 in Glendale, California to Edwin and Gladys (DeLong) Sloyer. She married James Scheidler, a Navy veteran of World War II in November, 1947. He preceded her in death in 2013. Together they had enjoyed nearly 30 years of living in this region, after moving from California to be near their only daughter and her children.
Catherine was notable for her smile and her creativity. She was continually eager to be helpful. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she also gave generously of herself to many and various volunteer efforts. She was truly a blessing to all to whom she gave her attentions. She touched many hearts and lives.
Catherine is survived by her daughter, Karen Hosford of Bull Shoals and two grandchildren, Richanne of Lakeview and Christopher of Mountain Home. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald and a sister, Helen.
