Robert Speed Bounds, age 90, of Norfork, Arkansas passed away Friday, April 22, 2016, at his residence. He was born May 4, 1925, in Weldon, North Carolina to Clayton Purnell and Elzada Elizabeth (Foster) Bounds.
Mr. Bounds retired from the United States Air Force after 23 years of service. He served during WWII, Korean and Vietnam Wars. He married Doris Anderson September 5, 1964, in San Antonio, Texas. He is a member of Norfork United Methodist Church.
Mr. Bounds is survived by his wife Doris Bounds of Norfork, Arkansas, a son Christopher Todd Bounds and wife Tamara of Marion, Indiana, three daughters Arleen Bounds of Cocoa, Florida, Polly Parnell of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Tracy Bounds of Springfield, Missouri, an adopted son Gene Gantz of Petersburg, Illinois, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and three brothers.
A Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2016, at Norfork United Methodist Church with Pastor Susan Jett and Reverend Dr. Christopher Bounds officiating. Interment will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks.
Arrangements are by Roller Funeral Home.
I am so sorry for your loss. Mother & Dad thought a lot of you, as do Susan and I. We know this is part of life. But does not make it any easier. You can take comfort in the fact he universally liked and he was a Christian.

My mother and father travelled to many of ball games with the Bounds. Bob and his wife were highly thought of by my parents
