Doris Morgan Ward, 88, passed peacefully from this earthly realm to a joyous heavenly welcome late Friday, April 22, 2016. She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, January 10, 1928 to John and Ruth Morgan. After graduation from Joe T. Robinson High School, she attended Baptist Hospital School of Nursing where she received her degree as a registered nurse beginning a long career serving others in the nursing profession. She worked for 10 years in a private medical practice with Doctors Sparks and McClain. Subsequently, she worked briefly at Baptist Hospital, Little Rock, before accepting a position as school nurse for the Little Rock School District where she worked for 24 years until retiring in 1990. During her tenure there, she gave her loving care to many young students and was able to be active in her daughter's upbringing and school activities.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Ward was preceded in death by husband of 37 years, Levi Dale Ward, sister, Frances Touchard, brother, John Morgan and daughter, DeAnn Morgan Clouse. Immediate survivors include sisters, Dorothy Horne, Little Rock, Jean Stockwell and husband Gene, Westminster, California, granddaughter, Morgan Clouse, son-in-law Perry Clouse of Tampa, Florida, and nieces and nephews.

Ms. Ward's life was a life devoted to serving and loving others. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church for over 50 years where she was active in several of the church's ministries. She was a member of the Gideon's Auxiliary, Garden Club, and Sewing Club.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff and friends at Briarwood Nursing and Rehabilitation for the kindness and loving care extended to Ms. Ward during her residency there over the past two years.

Doris, was my dad's, Jack Cook, first cousin. I remember her from when I was youngster, and we visited Aunt Ruth and Uncle John. I recall we would recite their names as if they were all one, Dorothy, Doris, Jean, Frances, and Johnny. Saddened by her loss, sending sympathies and love to all.

Dear Family,

Where should I begin? 82 years ago we moved to the Robinson school area, very near to the John Morgan family- a family that took us in as friends and treated us like family. Doris and Dorothy (THE TWINS),being my age, became classmates and friends for the next 82 years.

I have special memories of school days, church, Saturday night game time, shared meals, wedding showers, weddings, and funerals.

Thank you for a lifetime of friendship. I'll miss Doris and pray for the Lord's peace for you. Phil. 4:7

With love and sympathy,
Zela Mae

I have so many wonderful memories of Aunt Doris and I always enjoyed my time spent with her. She blessed so many people with her faith and kindness.
Morgan, Perry and Aunt Dorothy, may our Lord bless and comfort you during this time of grief. I pray that you will find comfort in your memories of her and in the knowledge that others are missing her, too.
A person that departs from this earth never truly leaves, for they are still alive in our hearts and minds, through us, they live on.
With prayers and sympathy,
Love,
Michelle Touchard
