Elizabeth (Bess) Charline Mills Graves Lynch, 90, of Conway died April 11, 2016. She was born September 10, 1925, at Springhill near Greenbrier, a daughter of the late Willie and Alma Robinson Mills. She attended school at Springhill, Arkansas State Teachers College Training School and graduated from Conway High School and received a BS Degree from Arkansas State Teacher College (now University of Central Arkansas) in 1946. She taught mathematics in Stuttgart, Hartman, St. Charles and DeWitt. In 1948, she married Billy T. Graves who became a pharmacist. In the 1950's they became owners of the Graves Rexall Drug Store in DeWitt which they operated until shortly before Bill died in 1977. Also preceding her in death were sisters Mary Frances Burrow, Edith Flood, Emma Thacker and a brother Curtis Mills.

While living in DeWitt, Mrs. Lynch was active in First Baptist Church there where she taught children in Sunday school and had leadership roles in other church activities. She was also active in other community affairs and helped organize and was the first president of the local hospital auxiliary. She served on the DeWitt School Board as secretary for five years and as president for five years.

In 1996, Bess moved to Conway and became a member of Conway's First Baptist Church where she was active in Sunday school as a member of the Joy Class. In 2004 she married Dr. Audie Lynch who survives. Other survivors are her children Philip Graves (Dawn) of San Jose, California and Susan Graves of Durham, North Carolina and their children, Adam and Clara Graves and Robert and Emma Graves; two stepchildren, Dr. Alan Lynch (Charlotte) of Nashville, Tennessee and Rosemary Adlong (Matthew) of Conway and their children, Luke Adlong (Alexandria), Sally Schanandore (Cole) and William Lynch.

Funeral services will be at Conway's First Baptist Church Monday April 18, 2016 at 10:00AM with Dr. R. Dale Wicker and Rev. Kyle Cochran presiding. Pallbearers will be nephews and other family members. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery by Roller McNutt Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday April 17, 2016 from 5:00PM-6:30PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Library or a favorite charity.
