Raymond "Skip" Ashley Cornett

Raymond ''Skip'' Ashley Cornett, age 80, of Harrison, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016, at Hillcrest Home in Harrison. He was born July 9, 1935, in El Dorado, Kansas, the son of Roy Raymond and Ferne Catherine (Sprecher) Cornett, who preceded him in death.

Skip was a member of the First Christian Church. He married Anita L. Hoge August 4, 1957, in Great Bend, Kansas. He was a graduate of Great Bend High School. He attended Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, Bowling Green State University in Ohio, Rolla School of Mines in Missouri and the University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri. He was a high school and college teacher.

Skip was a volunteer for the Diamond City/Lead Hill EMT-A Rescue Squad and Fire Department. He was a life guard at the Diamond Hills Country club pool; a member of the American Red Cross and the American Heart Association.
