Hazel L. Brown, age 73, of West Helena, Arkansas passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Southaven, Mississippi. Mrs. Brown was born January 23, 1943 to the late Tom and Vinnie Gamble.

She is survived by two children, James V. Evans of Carliso, Pennsylvania and Jeffrey L. Evans of Jonesboro; six grandchildren, Jaems V. Evans, Jr. of Lewisberry, Pennsylvania, Rebecca Evans of Carliso, Pennsylvania, Mark G. Miller of Estill, Tennessee, Michelle Conner of Ohio, Olivia Evans of Jonesboro and Alex Evans of Jonesboro; six great-grandchildren, Makayla Miller, Khloe Miller, Gavin Miller, Khloe Albright, Taylor Albright and Makilan Evans; sister, Betty Hutchens of West Helena; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Brown; a daughter, Peggy I. Conner; her parents; and two sisters, Barbara Haycraft and Dorthy Phillips.

A memorial service for Hazel Brown will be held Saturday, April 16, 2016 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the home of Carl Hutchens in Helena.
