Charlotte Ann Mills Fant

of Conway, AR

April 15, 1948 - February 15, 2016

Charlotte Ann Mills Fant, age 67, of Conway died suddenly on Monday, February 15. Charlotte was Academic Advisor to the Pre-Physical Therapy students at UCA. Mrs. Fant was born in Sikeston, MO, on April 15, 1948, to Grady and Mary Elizabeth Love Mills who preceded her in death. Her husband William F. Fant died in 1995; she never recovered from that loss.

Charlotte attended public schools in Lilbourn, MO; Ashdown, AR and graduated from Searcy High School, Class of 1966. She was a non-resident member of First United Methodist Church in Texarkana, AR. Charlotte attended Hendrix and UCA; she coached girls' basketball in Hughes, AR. She retired with Emeritus rank from the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service after 23 years of service on April 26, 2001.
She returned to UCA as a part-time Graduate instructor and eventually accepted the position of Academic Advisor to the Pre-Physical Therapy Students ... each of whom she loved deeply. Charlotte will continue to help others as she requested that her body be donated to Medical Science. So ... Charlotte lives on and continues to help others.

Charlotte loved her students, family, friends, sports activities, movies, and BUZZ radio. She also loved beautiful things; Christmas was her favorite holiday. She had a steel-trap mind; her home was immaculate; she was always ready to go anywhere; she was a fun person.
Mrs. Fant is survived by all her UCA Pre-Physical Therapy students and faculty/staff. She is also survived by her sister Sara Margaret Mills (Herman) Barnett of Texarkana, TX; a nephew Greg (Margaret) Barnett of Lavon,TX; a niece Lori Elizabeth (Craig) Mueller of Texarkana, TX; a great-niece Bentleigh Barnett of Austin, TX; two great-nephews Luke and Grady Mueller of Texarkana, TX; many cousins and a host of friends.

A Celebration of Charlotte's life will be held on Thursday, February 25, at 1:30PM at the DOYNE HEALTH SCIENCE CENTER Auditorium. It really should be a celebration because Charlotte was the life of any student, family, friends, and sporting gathering. So ... "Go, Bears, Go'' and "WPS"!

Memorials may be sent to the UCA Foundation for the "Charlotte Mills Fant Memorial Scholarship" at UCA, Box 4986, Conway, AR 72035, or to the charity of your choice.

Charlotte was such a special lady! I had some great memories with her.

She will be missed. She loved Movies and had seen about every Oscar nominated movie for this year. We also loved our visits with her because she would know the most recent, good movie out at the Theaters.

She took us to such fun places I would have never have know about. Mack Prairie Wings for one and Cothom's Mercantile for the best burgers ever!

To all her family--- I know your hearts are breaking. Please know your friends and family will lift you in prayers at this time. I hope by sharing our memories of her, it will ease your pain some.

Love always-
