May 12, 1925 - February 4, 2016

Mavis Ardelle Laudin died peacefully on February 4, 2016 at her residence at Bloomfield Healthcare and Rehab in Dodgeville Wisconsin. Mavis Laudin was born May 12, 1925 in Valley City, North Dakota to Henry and Maybelle Rood. The family moved to Wisconsin early in her life and she grew up on the family farm in Argyle, Wisconsin. Mavis was married to Wilburt ''Butch'' Dorn in 1947; they had one son, Ronald Dorn. Mavis and Wilburt had a stone mason business which Mavis loved very much. Wilburt died unexpectantly in 1966, and Mavis raised Ron as a single mother, supporting them with her employment at Attic Angels Nursing facility in Madison, WI. She eventually rose to the position of Executive Housekeeper. She remarried in 1984 to John ''Red'' Laudin of Madison WI. They chose Mountain Home as their retirement home and lived there until John's death in 2008, when Mavis returned to Madison with her step son Tom Laudin and daughter-in-law Earlene Laudin.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, all her brothers and sisters, her son Ron, and husbands Wilburt and John. Mavis is survived by step son Tom Laudin (Earlene), daughter in law Mary Mehaln, grandchildren Rebecca, Brian, Dylan, and Cody.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, February 8, 2016 at Roller Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Baxter Memorial Gardens Mausoleum of Hope.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful people who have provided such loving care to Mavis in the past several years; Shirley Cahoon, Theresa and Shane Rott, the staff and doctors at Bloomfield Manor, and the nurses and CNAs at Agrace Hospice. Memorials may be made to Bloomfield Healthcare and Rehab Nursing Scholarship Program at 3151 County Rd CH, Dodgeville, WI 53533.

Mavis and "Red" lived two doors away from us for several years. We played cards with them every week. Sometimes at their home and sometimes at ours. We love them both and miss them. Rest in peace Mavis.
