of Conway, AR

July 22, 1925 - January 21, 2016

Ann Merle Massey, age 90, of Conway, passed away January 21, 2016.

Merle was born July 22, 1925, in South Carolina to Robert and Anna Dora Jones.

She is survived by her four daughters, Linda Ingram of Euless, TX; Marilyn (Alan) Fielding of Tyler, TX; Diane (Brooks) Witten of Plano, TX; Teresa (Loyd) Delcore of Conway, AR; Grandchildren Sammy (Laurie) Ethridge, Chris Ethridge, Ami (Chris) Smith, Anna (Shane) Wanamaker, Natalie (Chad) Hogan, Ryan (Yumi) Delcore, and many great-grandchildren who were the apple of her eye. Surviving siblings include a sister, Jennie Crow and a brother, J.R. Jones, both of South Carolina, and sister-in-law Charlotte Slayton, of Harrison, TN.

Merle was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lamar Massey.

Merle enjoyed gardening, shopping and hot apple pies from McDonald's. She was always dressed to the nines in hats and jewelry, and had a great sense of humor. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and the Believers Sunday School Class. The family wishes to thank all of her Christian friends for their love and support over the years. The wonderful people of Conway were a source of great joy to Merle, as were sales at Conway's Classic Touch.

The family would like to thank Drs. John Smith and James Thomas, as well as Amber Mace and the excellent nurses and staff at Salem Place Rehab for their wonderful grace and care of our Mother.

Services will be held at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway on Saturday January 23rd at 4:00pm, preceded by a visitation at the funeral home at 3:00pm. A private burial will be held at Crestlawn Cemetery.

Merle was a very special aunt, whom I loved dearly. She was the funniest of all the brothers and sisters. My mother loved her and talked about them growing up often. The last time I saw Merle was at my Mom's funeral, even then she made us laugh talking about the old times.
Marilyn, Linda, Diane and Teresa my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. And even tho I haven't seen you in years I want you to know that I love you all and I am praying for you. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you.
