Leslie Carlson CampbellI am a Veteran.

of jacksonville, AR

July 20, 1944 - January 17, 2016

Leslie Carlson Campbell, Sr. ,71, of Jacksonville passed from this life on Sunday, January 17, 2016. He was born July 20, 1944 in North Little Rock to the late Charles Campbell and Alma Doyle Campbell. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Charles Clarence Campbell, Thurman Campbell, Marvin Campbell, and James Frances Campbell; and three sisters, Charlotte Campbell, Ruth Brewer, and Maxine Campbell.

Leslie honorably served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War and later transferred to the United States Air Force. He became a security guard and then a sheriff deputy for Pulaski County. He also was a volunteer firefighter. He loved camping and watching t.v.

Sickness such as cancer can change a person's attitude. Les was a kind, compassionate, gentle man. Although a person's attitude may change, the memories of who they were are remembered instead.

Leslie is survived by his wife Sharon Campbell; two sons, David Allen Campbell (Kelly) and Leslie Carlson Campbell, Jr.; one daughter, Leah-Ruth Marie Wiley; brother, Billy Campbell (Sarah); nine grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Interment at Oakland Cemetery in Holland.
