Gary Lee Ray, 57, of Brookland, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at his home. He was born February 17, 1958 in Jonesboro. Gary lived his entire lifetime in Jonesboro and worked for Riceland Foods for 33 years. He was a member of Airport Road Baptist Church. He loved to hunt and fish. He was an avid outdoors man and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Gary is preceded in death by his father, James Lee Ray; and a granddaughter, Summer Renee Ray.

Survivors include his mother, Glenda Carol Easter Ray; his wife, Suzann Simpson Ray; a son, Eric Ray of Harrisburg; three daughters, Christy (Michael) Ray, Brandy Crawford and Lauren Simpson all of Jonesboro; seven grandchildren, Tyler Ray, Ryan Crawford, Devin Ray, Autumn Ray, Jamie Ray, Kaylee Crawford and Zayne Simpson; a sister, Nancy Carol (John) Brewer of Jonesboro; his mother-in-law, Helen Gann of Jonesboro; and a nephew, Johnny Ray Brewer.

Chapel services will be 2 pm Friday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue in Jonesboro. Mark Sadler will officiate. Burial will follow at Old Military Cemetery at Sedgwick.

Visitation will be 5-7 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Scotty Tidwell, Chris Isom, Timothy Crawford, Jeremy Davidson, Ricky Baker, Bobby Bushong and Michael Ray will serve as pallbearers. Carl Eudy and Tyler Ray will serve as honorary pallbearers.
