March 3, 1926 - November 26, 2015

Leona La Rue Brown, 89 was born to John L. and Leona Lee Jones Cox on March 31, 1926 in Kinta, Oklahoma and died on November 26, 2015 in Searcy, Arkansas. Mrs. Brown was a member of the First Christian Church in Searcy and she worked as the church secretary for 12 years. She enjoyed reading and gardening.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and a sister Imogene Townsend.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Thomas G. Brown, a son, Glenn Brown (Debra), three daughters, Gail Browne (Frances) of Phoenix, Arizona, Karen Brown of Scotch Plains, New Jersey, Kimberly Talley (Steven) of Searcy, six grandchildren, Justin Talley (Amanda), Miranda Mason (Lance), Joshua Talley (Meagin), Tyler Brown, Christian Berk, Lauren Berk, three great-grandchildren, River, Mason, Beau Talley, a sister, Gloria Brown of California, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home 6-8 PM Monday, November 30, 2015 in Searcy. Funeral Services in the Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 2 PM. Interment to following White County Memorial Gardens.

Curtis, my mother Marie, and I send our sincere condolences
to the entire family. The Brown's are our neighbors and we have enjoyed them over the years. LaRue was such a pretty lady and always had a smile on her face and always friendly and pleasant. She will be terribly missed. We are here if you guys need anything. With love, Curtis, Jessica and Marie

Frank and I send our sincere condolences to the entire family. Mrs. LaRue was a classy lady, through and through. She was such an inspiration to me, a wonderful example of Christianity. So many special memories of my aunt Rucie. She had mad typing skills. Remember hearing her typewriter sing. Haha. Homemade lemonade, Mexican food. Always put together. Oh how I love this lady. Blessed to have had her in my life.
