Una Alice Patrick Reece, 93, of West Memphis, Arkansas died Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
Mrs. Reece was born January 28, 1922 in The Morning Sun Community of Lenow (now Cordova), Tennessee to Harvey Newton Patrick and Lena Alice Williams Patrick.
Mrs. Reece was a member and former secretary of The West Memphis First Presbyterian Church and retired from the Insurance department of Guaranty Loan. During the Great Depression she lived with her paternal uncle Arthur and Aunt Mamie Patrick and her cousin Bessie Weinrich. She graduated 8th grade in 1935 from Cordova School and the 12th grade in 1939 from Germantown High School. She later attended Memphis State University. In the Early days she was employed by the U. S. Navy at Millington, Tennessee, and at Great Lakes Naval Training Center in Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years Joseph Clyde Reece Sr., a daughter Martha Jane Reece, a son Charles Ronald Reece, three sisters and brothers-in-law, Louise (Ed) Wilkinson, Alma (Dick)Jackson, Marion (Randy) Strickland and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Houston (Christine Patrick, and Harvey (Dorothy) Patrick.
She is survived by a daughter, Lynda Thompson (Doug) of Collierville, TN; three sons, Joseph Clyde Reece Jr. of West Memphis, AR; David Patrick Reece (Kathy) of Fayetteville, AR; and Brian Reece (Stacy) of West Memphis, AR; seven grandchildren, Chris Reece of Fort Lauderdale, FL; Kevin Reece (Charissa) Reece of Fair Oaks, CA; Jennifer Reece of Little Rock, AR; Rachel and Katherine Reece of West Memphis, AR; and Jake and Reece Thompson of Collierville, TN; two great-grandchildren Austin and Ashley Reece of Fort Lauderdale, FL. and 17 nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to service time at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 30, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church in West Memphis with burial following at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, Arkansas.
Memorials may be made to The First Presbyterian Church, 315 N. Missouri Street, West Memphis, Arkansas.
