Rodney Eugene Hill, 75, of North Little Rock, AR, died Tuesday, November 17, 2015. He was born July 27, 1940 to Everett and Vada Chism Hill in Houston, AR.
Rodney spent his early years in Houston, AR and moved to Little Rock at the age of 14. He was a graduate of Little Rock Technical High School in 1960 and then joined the U.S. Army. After the Army, Rodney was employed by Colonial Earth Grains Bakery for 27 years. Rodney was an active member of Christian Assembly of God Church in North Little Rock, where he love the Lord, spending time with his church family, and singing gospel music. With a passion for Bluegrass, Rodney enjoyed traveling the South for Bluegrass music festivals and attending local community dances at Hank's Station Dance Hall. He was an avid Razorback fan, and also loved the Dallas Cowboys.
Rodney is survived by his adored sister, Ramona Susan Hill of Little Rock; two nieces: Angie Staton Johnson and Jill S. Staton, both of Little Rock; and was the proud uncle to Reese and Brooks Johnson. He is also survived by uncle Bernard "Babe" Chism (Juanita) of Houston, AR; aunt Minnie Faye Whitson of Malvern, AR; and numerous cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 20, 2015 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd. North Little Rock, AR 72116 (501-791-7400). Visitation will be one hour prior in the Chapel. Burial will follow at May Cemetery in Houston, AR.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to CARTI Cancer Center, or to Christian Assembly of God, 10601 Hwy. 107, Sherwood, AR 72120
