Gale Calvin Battershell, age 97 of Marshall died on Friday, September 25th, 2015 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison, Arkansas. He was born on December 1st, 1917 at Arnold's Bluff near Marshall, Arkansas to Joe Franklin Battershell and Ellen (Scarlett) Battershell.
Gale was a farmer and was of the Baptist faith. He married Lena Jewell Treat on June 7th, 1941. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Lena Battershell; two sons, Gary Joe Battershell of Morrilton and Scotty E. Battershell of Harrison; one brother, Nathan F. Battershell of Marshall; six grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren. Gale was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ronnie Battershell and two sisters, Geralddean Treat and Bennie Joe Rose.

Graveside services for Gale will be 2:00 PM Monday, September 28th, 2015 at Canaan Cemetery near Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Joe Dale Williams officiating. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.

Sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I enjoyed working with him and those fishing trips to the head of Red River. Another of that greatest generation gone home.
