Earl Hugh Hamilton, age 94, of Marshall, Arkansas passed from this life on September 18, 2015 at his home. He was born January 1, 1921 to parents Ode and Bessie (Longcrier) Hamilton in Snowball, Arkansas. He was the second of four children.
Hugh married Alice Lee Hall on February 1, 1942. To this union one son was born, Bobby Hugh Hamilton. He was in the military service during WWII, stationed in England. He served from 1942 to 1945. He was a member of Calf Creek Free and Accepted Masons of Snowball, AR, and attended the First Christian Church of Marshall, AR. He retired from Searcy County Road Department. He was a heavy equipment operator and continued working well into his 80's operating a bulldozer.
Hugh was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 52 years, his son, one sister, Geneva Cantrell, one brother, Norman Hamilton.
Survivors are: one sister, Gladys Vanderpool, his daughter-in-law, Dianna, his grandchildren: Cheryl and Billy Moore of Witts Springs, AR; Craig and Tressa Hamilton, and Clint Hamilton of Atkins, AR; six great- grandsons: Dexter and Colton Moore; Bo and Jaxson Hamilton; Alex and Anthony Hamilton; three nieces: Darlene Nolan, Karen Davis and Debbie Hamilton; nephew Charles Hamilton.
Funeral services for Earl Hugh Hamilton are 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Roller-Coffman Chapel, with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM preceding the service. Bro Shirl Williams will be officiating. Burial will be in Marshall Memorial Gardens near Marshall, AR.
Family will be pallbearers.
we are so very sorry for your loss. i remember when u guys lived across the road from hugh & alice when i was a kid on hamilton hill. we used to go over there and play basket ball. we will keep you guys in our prayers.
Prayers to the family. Hugh was a great cousin and will be missed by all. One day there will be a great reunion in heaven for all our love ones when we will see them again. Praise our Lord.
