Clifford Leon Tumbleson

of Humnoke, AR

December 4, 1928 - September 16, 2015

Clifford Leon Tumbleson, 86, was born on December 4, 1928 in Brummit, Arkansas. He was loved and raised by his parents, Loey and Maudie Griffin Tumbleson.

Clifford was saved when he was thirty-seven years old at a revival held at Macedonia Baptist Church in Humnoke under the preaching of Bro. Creed Rush. The sermon that night was ''One More Night With the Frogs.'' He was a deacon and faithful member of Rowes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Humnoke, Arkansas until his health failed him. He was a devoted father, paw paw and great paw paw. He was loved by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He attended Humnoke Public School until the 11th grade, it was then necessary for him to go home, work on the family farm, and he stayed there until retirement. At a young age of seventeen, he went to Bucklin, Kansas to work in the wheat harvest and California to pick peaches in the summer time when the crops were ''laid by.''

He was preceded in death by parents, Loey and Maudie Griffin Tumbleson, his wife of fifty-two years, Delma May Moore Tumbleson, his brothers: Difford Darrell (infant), Loey Edsel (infant) and Dillard Tumbleson, and his sister: Joan Tumbleson Bell. He often mentioned of meeting the two brothers he never knew that had died in infancy.

On September 16, 2015 at 3:30 P. M. God called home a very special person who leaves behind several family members and friends to cherish the memories of his life. One son: Mike (Tess) Tumbleson of Clinton; three daughters: Vickie (Robert) Alberson and Janice (David) Henry of Humnoke, and Kim (Eddie) Weaver of Benton; seven grandchildren: Michelle (Justin) McGee of England, Mitchell (Melissa) Tumbleson of England, Robbie (Amy) Alberson of Austin, Paige (Toby) Bullock of Bryant, Alexandria (Dane) Duffield of Stuttgart, Ross and Peyton Weaver of Benton; nine great-grandchildren: Carson Carlisle, Kylie Maye Bullock, Amaya Grace Alberson, Gracie Louise Bullock, Tinley Nicole Tumbleson, Waylan McGee, Rowen Lyn Alberson, Anna Marie Bullock and Tyler Drake Bullock. He also leaves to celebrate his life, two brothers: Martin (Bonnie) and Rodger (Clara) Tumbleson of Humnoke; six sisters: Faye (Jack) of Sherwood, Noma (Delbert) Brown, Donna Carter, Joy (Garland) Rockwell of Humnoke, Floy Shepherd of North Little Rock, and Ollie (Harvey) Pruitt of Lebenon, Oregon. He also leaves a very special person who was in his life: Ann Morris of Humnoke.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Rowes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Humnoke at 3:00 P. M. Visitation will be Friday, September 18, 2015 at Rowes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Officiating will be Bro. Bill Rambo, Bro. Jim Moss, Bro. Mitch Dulaney and Bro. Pat Fulmer. Interment will follow at Hamilton Cemetery in the Hamilton Community.

Pallbearers will be Mitchell Tumbleson, Robbie Alberson, Toby Bullock, Ross Weaver, Dana Duffield and Justin McGee. Honorary Pallbearer: Ronald Munnerlyn, Rodger Tumbleson, Martin Tumbleson, Leslie Campbell and Randy Smith.

The family asked that memorials be made to Rowes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Rowes Chapel Rd., Humnoke, Arkansas 72072.
