Miss Vera was a great person and will be missed by me and a lot of others. Was so saddened to see her obituary in the newspaper. We met through her daughter when I worked at DBHS and found out she sold Avon. Lost contact when she moved to Hot Springs but thought a lot about her. We had some good times and went out to eat a few times. I treasured her friendship and am thankful I had the pleasure of knowing her. Our loss and heaven's gain!

I am so sorry for your loss. Vera was like a mother to me for many years until she moved to Hot Springs and we lost contact. I loved her very much. Her heart was bigger than she was. She will be greatly missed.

Vera became my sister by marriage. In many respects we were kindred spirits, both nurses whose careers finished in nursing education. It was through Cotton that I kept tabs on her after moving to PA. The most important thing is that she remained true to her faith and family. I recently have heard from her daughter and her words reminded me of this scripture - And her children arise up and call her blessed. (Prov. 31:28). I don't think there is anything more important to be said. I know she will be missed, but those of us who are Christian know we will see her again!
