Dear Mrs. Gibbs and family: I am so sorry to hear about your loss. As a child Eugene and I spend time together when my family would come to visit my grandmother Alsie (sp?) Treece. If I remember correctly she lived a block from Eugene's mother. I think the last time I was able to visit Leslie was in 1983 and I was able to talk to Eugene. Again, my condolences.
I am so sorry for your loss. May God give you the strength you will need during this time. Eugene will be greatly missed by all of the Leslie community.
So sorry for your loss. We are thinking of you and praying for strength and comfort during this time. We will always remember all those fun games played in Gulf Shores with you and Eugene! So glad we had the chance to get to know both of you better. Sending our love.

We are so sorry to hear about Eugene passing away.We send you all our deepest sympathy, and prayers.
I first met Eugene and Battleshell around 1980 at Camp Robinson working in the kitchen (Army). We formed a friendship that lasted well into the 90s, until the civilians took over the kitchen. Then we went our separate ways. Every time I stopped at the station on Hwy. 65, they would tell me I just missed him. Years ago I went to a basketball game in Leslie my daughters were playing in, once again I just missed him. Everyone I spoke to knew Eugene. Eugene Gibbs was not afraid of work. He lived to work. Once he was your friend, your back was covered. I learned that lesson in Little Rock one night. My heart aches, and I will surely miss Eugene (The Honorary Mayor of Leslie).
Sending my prayers and condolences to the family. Rest in peace Eugene
My thoughts and prayers are with all the family during this difficult time

My thoughts and prayers are with all of the Gibbs Family during this very difficult time. My memories of Eugene from childhood are of a quiet young man who was always respectful. My dad had very similar memories of him which he shared with me during one of his stays in the hospital back in 1988. I pray for God to comfort you and to give you strength as you find you way through this grief.
