CMSgt Lyman Holler Jr. USAF, RetI am a Veteran.

of Bethesda Community, Batesville, AR

August 27, 1947 - July 30, 2015

CMSgt Lyman ''Ed'' Holler Jr., USAF, Retired, 67, of Bethesda died Thursday, July 30, 2015, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.

He was born August 27, 1947, in Peoria, Illinois to Lyman and Oweita Lee Wyse Holler. Ed was a military professional who proudly served his country for over twenty eight years in the United States Air Force, culminating his career as a Special Agent assigned to the Air Force Office of Special Investigations. He graduated magna cum laude from Florida State University with a bachelor's degree in international affairs. Ed was a Vietnam veteran, serving a tour at Bien Hoa AB, RVN, assigned to an Air Base Ground Defense unit. He was medically retired in 1994 with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. A member of St. Mary's Parish, he was of the Catholic faith. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association and a member of the Association of Former Office of Special Investigations Special Agents.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, the former Valerie Hung of Pearl City, Hawaii; two daughters, Amylee Udell and husband Rio of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Melanyann Garvin and husband Eric of San Francisco, California; five grandchildren: Zia, Lane and Sonora Udell of Albuquerque and Pryor and Pryce Garvin of San Francisco, California.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Patricia Ann Smith.

He was a loving, patient, and thoughtful husband, father and grandfather whose silly jokes and quirky wit filled us with laughter and smiles. Providing for his family was of utmost importance to him and he dedicated much time and energy to this effort. G-Dad, you will be missed.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Dhanraj Narla officiating. Interment will be in the St. Mary's Parish Columbarium. Full military honors will be rendered.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the National Rifle Association, 11250 Waples Mill Road, Fiarfax, VA 22030 or the American Diabetes Association (www.donations.diabetes.org).

Arrangements are by Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.

Millions of stars in the heavens above,

Only one uncle to cherish and love.

Thousands and thousands of flowers and trees,

Hundreds and hundreds of mountains and seas.

Everything multiplied over and over,

Robins and butterflies, bees in the clover.

Many good friends to think the world of,

But only one uncle to cherish and love.

Mel,

I'm so sorry for your loss. I wish I could attend the funeral to support you during this loss. I'm not able to attend, but am praying for God's comfort and peace for you and your family.

believe also in me.
2 There are many dwelling places in my Father's house. Otherwise, I would have told you, because I am going away to make ready a place for you.
3 And if I go and make ready a place for you, I will come again and take you to be with me, so that where I am you may be too.
4 And you know the way where I am going."John 14:1-4

4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death will not exist any more - or mourning, or crying, or pain, for the former things have ceased to exist."Rev 21:4
