I just found out today about Gene's passing. Scott and family, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I remember back in the day (early - mid-70's) when Scott and I were hanging out at the house in Skyline Terrace and Gene heard us saying a word that we did not truly know the meaning. Naturally the meaning was not nice, he let us know a definition of it, and it changed our perspective. We were just being young lads, and not thinking about words and their consequences. He set us straight, and although it may be hard to believe, I think often about that time, and how we learned a good life's lesson. Thanks you Gene for helping us understand that words have consequences, and can cause issues.

I also remember Gene helping with our Scout troop down at Camp Orr, and remember the twinkle he often had in his eyes. I recall fond days as I spent time in Gene and Scott's world.

Lolita, I am so very sorry for your loss. I wish there were words to take away the pain you are feeling. Just please know if there is anything I can do for you I am just a phone call away. 479-806-6997. I'm sorry I haven't kept in touch with my "little sister" and that is how I will always think of you, but we have both been busy with our families. I would like to reconnect and I know Randy would love to visit with you again. My sympathy to all of your family. I love you sweetheart. Glenda

Sorry to hear about Gene's passing - he leased land from my Grandparents Isaac & Inice Majors and was a great help to us when we oversaw their care.

Gene was always honest and fair and, although soft spoken, able to make points through suggestions and kind words. We enjoyed a great rapport with him for many years.

IN the 1950's Gene and his family visited my Uncle Hugh & Aunt Dorothy Majors in Derby, Kansas as well as my own parents while mutually employed at Boeing in Wichita Kansas. I was born there the same year as his sone Steven.

My parents told me they grew up together in Harrison and played cards together with Gene on weekends in Kansas.

We'll remember him fondly.

My family and I would like to offer our deepest sympathies to you and your family. We are so sorry for your loss. Please know that you are never alone. Turn to the Holy Scriptures for guidance and to help soothe your heart. Psalms 34:18 assures us that God is near to those broken at heart and crushed in spirit. Please accept our deepest sympathies.

I had the privilege of having met Gene a few times through his visits with Scott. While I always enjoyed those times, his real impact upon my life came through his son. His testimony of his father serve as a lasting memorial in his honor. I grieve for my friend and his family's loss, but I rejoice in the confidence of his new home in the presence of the One Who loves him more than anyone. And I await the day when we can meet yet once more, this time to never say goodbye. My prayers are with you all. Blessings.

So sorry to learn of my cousin Gene's passing. He gained a great sense of humor from Arlie & Faye which likely helped him so much in life's challenges. When Gene brought Steve & Scott to my parents home in Lubbock they lit up the house with a joy that I will never forget.

Our prayers for Gale & Vicki and all of Gene's family in these difficult days.
