Lottie May Ammons, of Benton, age 85, passed away Monday, June 29, 2015 at Heartland Nursing and Rehabilitation in Benton. She was born October 1, 1929 in Kirby, AR to the late Marion and Bera (Foshee) Babbitt. She was formally a housekeeper at Benton Service Center and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, gardening, camping, and just generally loved being outside. She was an excellent cook, known for her homemade biscuits and enjoyed canning. Above all else, Mrs. Lottie loved her children and her grandkids.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Ammons; one son, Garry Ammons; two grandsons, Sean William Gardner and Walter Matthew Ammons; one great-grandson, Austin Garret Newton; one brother, LV Babbitt, and three sisters, Hula Bagley, Margie Kyle, and Sue Wheeler.

Survivors include two sons, Allen Ammons of Haskell and Darrell Ammons and wife, Barbara of Jessieville; three daughters, Cynthia Gardner and husband, Avery, Nancy Banister and husband, William, and Glinda Smith and husband, Donnie all of Benton; seventeen grandchildren, Terri Lee Pritchard and husband, Roger, Sherri Griffin and husband, Richard, Samantha Berryman and husband, Robert, Johnny Wright, James Ammons and wife, Teresa, Michael Ammons, William Darrell Ammons Jr. and wife, Kristy, Brody Ammons, Tanya Gardner and partner, James Jones, Bettina Colson and partner, Rob Davis, Jesse Gardner, Billy Ammons and wife, Kim, Jennifer Alexander and husband, Richard, Rachel Banister, Carl Smith and partner, Nora Thomas, Kimberly Brothers and husband, Steve, and Christi McCauley and husband, James; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Gentry of Redfield; one cousin, Elizabeth Foshee; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 2, 2015 in the chapel of Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton (501-315-4047) with Bro. William Walker Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Smith Rosemont Cemetery in Benton with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the Saline County Humane Society, 7600 Bauxite Hwy, Bauxite, AR 72011.

The family will be at Mrs. Lottie's home in Benton.
