Lynn BlevinsI am a Veteran.

of Mountain Home, AR

October 10, 1946 - June 28, 2015

Man of God, husband, father, grandfather, fisherman, mechanic, and cook. All of these are words that are used to describe a man who will be inexplicably missed. His love for all, his compassion for everyone, and what his life exemplified will be the legacy his friends and family will cherish.

Ray Lynn Blevins age, 68 went to meet his Lord on Sunday, June 28, 2015.

Lynn was born to the late William Arnold ''Pete'' and Juanita Blevins in Batesville, Arkansas on October 10, 1946. Growing up Lynn was one of 5, including his twin Roy Glen. In the late 60's Lynn joined the United States Navy and proudly served his country in Vietnam. Lynn was awarded three medals of accommodation. The Nation Defense Service Medal, The Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. After returning home from Vietnam Lynn began working for his parents at Pete's Cleaners. Lynn married the love of his life, Carol in 1968 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. A short time later Lynn and Carol bought Pete's Cleaners from Lynn's parents and have been running it faithfully in Mtn. Home ever since. Lynn was an impressive cook famous for his cherry dumplings, cooking many meals for more than just his family. He was active in his church for over 65 years. Lynn sang in the choir but more than that, he participated in the Spokesman Quartet. He was an Upward Basketball Volunteer, where he helped every Saturday morning, making biscuits and gravy and chocolate chip cookies for the masses. Lynn was a compassionate person always giving his time for others.

A service honoring the life of Lynn will be held 11 A.M. Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Mtn. Home with Reverend Dr. Tad Rogers officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 5 7 p.m. at Roller Funeral Home as well as one hour prior to service time at the church. Military honors will be by the United States Navy.

Pallbearers for Lynn will be John Barnes, Ron Kincade, Eddie Goodwin, Jeep Chick, Jimmy Venters, Barney Larry, Robert Nelson and Don Rosa. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Pete's Cleaners, Kincade's Sunday School class, and the members of the First Baptist Church Choir.

Lynn is survived by his wife Caroline ''Carol'' Jean Blevins of 47 years; his son: Travis Blevins; his daughter: Tarina (Kevin) Bodenhamer; his mother: Juanita Blevins of Columbia, TN; four grandsons: Derek and Kyle Bodenhamer, Dalton and Dakota Blevins; two granddaughters: Mica and Mariah Blevins all of Mtn. Home, AR; three brothers: Arnold (Louise) Blevins of Hollister, MO., Glen (Suella) Blevins of Sherwood, AR., and Alan Blevins of Columbia, TN; one sister: Karen Aigner of Franklin, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church for the purchase of lawn equipment for maintenance.

Brenda and I were saddened to learn of Lynn's passing. We're on the road in South Dakota and won't be able to make it back for the services. I've been singing beside Lynn since we were high school, and all of those years in choir. I'll miss his sweet voice and pure spirit.

Carol and family, My heart hurts for you at this time but I know our God is a big God and he will wrap all of you in His arms and carry you through this difficult time. I admired Lynn for his Godly life and his quiet and gentle spirit. I always enjoyed talking with him and he always had a cheery greeting. I am sure the choir in heaven is blessed by his beautiful voice. He truly will be missed by so many. My love and prayers go out to all of you.
