Virginia Louise Cassinelli Faulk

of Little Rock, AR

August 30, 1930 - June 24, 2015

Virginia Louise Cassinelli Faulk went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 after a long, valiant fight with cancer. By her family and friends, she was affectionately known as Dinda. The second of four children, she was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on August 30, 1930 in the living quarters above her grandparent's business on Main Street, Rose City Bakery, where her grandfather's name, Joseph Jung, is still visible. Dinda grew up in a vibrant, loving Catholic home. To her Italian father and German mother, nothing was more important than family; big Sunday afternoon lunches were a regular event, and guests were always welcome. She had a particular fondness for her youngest brother, Dickie, with Down syndrome. After marrying in 1956, she and her husband, Weldon, frequently cared for him at their home. One could expect to find them engaged in a game of Scrabble - where Dickie ruled - enjoying popcorn with a Fresca, and ONLY Channel 7 on TV! They also 'adopted' an intellectually disabled brother and sister who lived at St. Joseph's Orphanage. Taking them shopping during the Christmas season always created special memories.

In 1947, Dinda graduated from Mount Saint Mary Academy with honors. She received a two year degree from Little Rock Junior College. During her lifetime, she worked as a scribe for an orthopedic surgeon and an administrative assistant at her father's vending company. However, the highlight of her life was greeting both pets and their owners at her son and daughter-in-law's veterinary clinic in North Little Rock for twenty-five years. She was known for her quick wit and attention to detail. She never met an animal she didn't like.

Dinda was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Cassinelli and Louise Jung Cassinelli; sister, Dolores Cassinelli Youngblood; and brother, Richard (Dickie) Cassinelli. She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Weldon K. Faulk, Sr. of Little Rock; son, Weldon Kendall Faulk, Jr.(Lisa) of North Little Rock; daughter, Mary Faulk Coleman(Don) of Little Rock; brother, David Cassinelli(Linda) of North Little Rock; grandchildren Kristin Faulk Mitchell(Heath) of North Little Rock; David Faulk of Grand Junction, CO; and Cathryn and John Coleman of Little Rock; one great-grandchild; and lifelong, faithful friend Loretta Longinotti, Little Rock.

The family would like to extend deepest gratitude to Brad Baltz, MD, and his entire staff at Hematology Oncology Services of Arkansas for their exceptional care. They became extended family and a devoted support system. Additional thanks to Hospice Home Care for guidance the 'last mile.'

Visitation will be Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home at 6:00-7:00 pm with a Rosary service at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, June 29, 2015 at 12:30 pm at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church, Little Rock, with Rev. John K. Antony officiating. Interment will immediately follow at the church's columbarium.

Memorials may be made to support Catholic education or the charity of your choice.

Kendall & Lisa & family

We are sorry for the loss of you mother. She was a sweet lady & I enjoyed being her friend & nurse for many years. She had quite a sense of humor & when she would bring Richard into the clinic , those two together were a hoot! I also enjoyed our visits at Vets & Pets. She was a dear sweet soul and you and your family have our deepest sympathy at this time of loss.

Prayers to all of the family! I loved Ms. Faulk over the short time I knew her. She was strong , funny and such a sweet example to me of a woman who had accomplished so much in her life but so humble all the time when I would come by and clean her yard. I will remember her dearly . SHE WAS A FRIEND!!
